Process Development Engineer Intern

Validated a new steel source for heat-treated bicycle components using 30 samples across 10 furnace-tray locations. Performed Rockwell HRA/HRC and Vickers case-depth testing, metallographic sample preparation, and Cpk, t-test, and variance analysis; confirmed specifications with no process changes required.

Inverted Pendulum Control Lab

A cart-pole simulator that benchmarks cascaded PID, LQR, MPC, and an energy-shaping swing-up controller on the same plant, actuator limit, and cost function. The equations of motion, both Riccati solvers, and the constrained MPC solver are written from scratch in NumPy. Across 169 mismatched plants, LQR and MPC held 84.6% against 55.6% for PID.
